Report on Father John´s holiday in Nigeria 2017

In January 2017 Father John spent his holydays in Achina/Nigeria and visited the Good Shepherd Nursery/Primary School Ogbunka. His friend, Bishop Dr. Peter Okpaleke, blessed an newly built school building.

Rev. Fr. John Umeojiakor was on holiday in his home country Nigeria in December 2016.

He celebrated the silver jubilee of his priestly ordination there with his family and friends. Thanks to God, it was warm enough.

After the jubilee celebration he visited the Good Shepherd Nursery/Primary School Ogbunka.
On Sunday, 15^th January 2017, the new computer house built near the parish church and Father´s house was blessed by His Lordship, Most Rev. Dr. Peter Okpaleke, the Catholic Bishop of Ahiara diocese in Nigeria.
Among those present during the blessing were Rev. Fr. John Umeojiakor, Rev. Fr. Boniface Ubaka who is the parish priest of St. Monica´s parish Ogbunka as well as the manager of the school and Rev. Fr. Cosmas Ibeh who is the parish priest of St. Patrick´s parish Ogbunka. Among many other parishioners present were the school children and their parents and the parish choir that coloured the occasion with beautiful songs.
After the blessing of the house the Bishop and Father John were welcomed in a special way. The school children dramatized their joy and gratitude with plays, dance, songs and recitation. They also made known their needs.
Their needs include tables, chairs, power generating plant for the computer house and the computers. They also need as a matter of urgency air condition in their school bus as well as renovation of their school houses. The attendants during the ceremony were really very grateful and happy.

In this 2017 academic year there are 284 pupils and 11 teachers. The computer house has 5 rooms. It is built in a way that is accessible to the handicapped. There is also toilet in the house.

We are really grateful that the building of the computer house was successfully completed mostly with money got from donations. We heartily pray God to reward all our benefactors.
Rev. Fr. John Umeojiakor came back to Austria in January 2017.
