2015-05-15

The Neue Mittelschule Neumarkt im Hausruckkreis, Austria, organised family mass and a parish coffee.

Rev. Fr. Dr. John Umeojiakor visited the Neue Mittelschule Neumarkt i.H. (Secondary School in Neumarkt i.H.), Austria on the 15th of April 2015. In two classes he introduced the Chukwuemerie Organisation to the pupils and gave them the history and the activities of the Good Shepherd Nursery/Primary School Ogbunka, Nigeria. They were indeed fascinated.

On the 26th of April 2015 he celebrated family mass in Neumarkt i.H. parish church in a colourful way with the pupils of the school and the GLES-choir. After the mass the pupils and the teachers organised a parish coffee and many people were in attendance. The distinguished personalities in attendance include the retired town union chairman Mr. Ernst Geier, co-founder of the Chukwuemerie organisation Dr. Mrs. Melitta Walchetseder and the school principal Mr. Siegfried Maierhuber.

The pupils, their parents and teachers of the school prepared and sold tea, coffee, cakes, drinks etc. They realised the unbelievable amount of € 1.237,00, which they donated to the Good Shepherd Nursary/Primary School Ogbunka.

Big thanks to the parish priest Mag. Josef Gratzer, the pupils and teachers, especially Mr. Guenther Willinger, the teacher of religion, for organising the whole activity with his team. The money will be utilised for the specific project in Good Shepherd Nursery/Primary School Ogbunka and the account will, of course, be sent to the organisers in the school.
